The Path To Knighthood
The Path to Knighthood Begins with Vigil and Reflection.
The journey of a postulant begins not with grandeur, but with humility.
At the Vigil Service, held on the eve of Investiture, the postulant enters the sacred space in solemn procession — clad in a dark suit, bearing their white Templar mantle folded reverently over their left arm.
This is not a garment worn lightly. It is a symbol of service, purity, and commitment — and it is carried rather than worn to signify that the postulant has not yet taken up the full burden of the Templar vow.
The mantle will only be placed upon their shoulders after the Accolade is received in the following days, when their prayers, reflection, and spiritual preparation are complete.
This sacred tradition echoes the ancient rite of purification and dedication before receiving the accolade. It reminds all present that the chivalric path is one of faith, discipline, and sacred responsibility — never taken for granted.
